We are planning on staying at this hotel from Friday, May 8th to Sunday, May 10th. There is a group discount available so before you book, let me know so I can get you the discount before booking. Please let us know as soon as possible.
Friday's dinner:
Dinner reservation on May 8 is at 7:30pm in a location TBD.
But it will be at a restaurant near the hotel, not at the wedding venue.
Get your International Driver's License:
The wedding venue is about 55 minutes outside of Palma (the city in which you fly into), so you'll need to rent a car. You will need an international driver's license to do so. Even if the rental car company doesn't ask for it, if you are pulled over by the police and don't have it, you'll receive a $500 fine. You can get the IDL for like $20 at any AAA office on the same day, or by mail (which takes a few months). The license is good for one year. Plus, the easiest way to explore the island is by car.
The one rental car company to stay away from is OKmobility as they are notorious for not returning your deposit. If you use Enterprise, you can use this discount code XZ16A76. Though in my experience, Enterprise is still a bit more expensive. But they are located at the airport so you don't have to worry about arriving at the airport and then getting on a shuttle to pick up your rental car, which some companies do. Other rental car company options I recommend because they are located directly inside the airport are:
Sixt, Hertz and Avis
If you don't know how to drive a stick shift, make sure you are booking for an automatic since most cars in Europe are stick shifts.
Make sure your license won't be expired ;-)
In Spain, traditional gift registries are no longer common; instead, it is customary for guests to contribute a monetary gift to help the couple start their new life together.
We know this may be a little different from what some of our American guests are used to, so please only do what feels comfortable for you. If you do choose to participate in this tradition, the details will be provided below.
